Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place of hundreds of famous entertainers.
Many well-known actors, artists, and musicians have been laid to rest in what is the only cemetery in Hollywood and one of the oldest in all of Los Angeles.
Many prominent Hollywood personalities are interred there — from actors like Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Mel Blanc (the man of a thousand voices like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig,) Burt Reynolds, and Darren McGavin (the dad in A Christmas Story,) to musicians like Johnny Ramone, Chris Cornell, and Scott Weiland.
Other interesting people buried there include infamous gangster Bugsy Siegel, actress Maila Nurmi (Vampira,) and transgender actress Holly Woodlawn, best known for being the celebrated “Holly” named in Lou Reed’s “Walk On The Wild Side” (“Holly came from Miami, F-L-A…hitchhiked her way across the USA…”.)
