It sort of goes without saying that Eddie Vedder’s mighty baritone can do no wrong.

Instantly recognizable, the only voice that comes close to sounding like his is that of his late father, one rare treat among others which we are privy to on Earthling, his third studio album (and his first in more than a decade) as a solo artist.

Earthling was released February 11, 2022, to largely positive reviews. Fans familiar with Pearl Jam’s extensive 30-plus-years-long catalog and his past solo work likely knew to expect the unexpected with a Vedder solo release based on his previous two — one being the remarkable soundtrack to the compelling film Into The Wild, and the other an album composed entirely of original and cover songs played exclusively on ukulele.

Little more than two years shy of sixty-years-old, Eddie Vedder is now an elder statesman of rock and roll, and having been part of most of our lives for so long, the man feels at this point less like a rockstar and more like a belove…
