Everyone has some artists and songs they just can’t stand to listen to.

Sometimes even our favorite bands release songs we don’t really care for and would be fine not hearing again.

Every time these artists or songs begin playing on a shuffled playlist, we trip over ourselves to get to our laptops to skip the tune before we end up with an eardrum infection. But many people — specifically Mac users — don’t know that there is an app designed for the specific purpose of eliminating this worry altogether.

Denied is an app for the Mac that runs in the background and allows you to automatically skip music based on rules you define, so you don’t have to worry about hearing Nickleback or Mambo №5 ever again.

It’s pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Denied is a Mac-only app. I researched, but was unable to find a similar app for Windows-based PCs. It may exist, but if it does, I couldn’t find it.
