Yep. My older brother introduced 10cc to me with their Deceptive Bends album back in the late 70s. I was just a little kid but I still remember that album cover.
Fantastic newsletter, as always. Also wanted to say your piece on discovering new music is so well done! A must read for anyone stuck in option paralysis, or worse, the algorithmic silos of the major streaming platforms.
Thanks so much, man! That really means a lot and makes the work of writing these pieces one hundred percent worthwhile knowing that others find it genuinely useful and/or entertaining!
Absolutely, Lori! It looks like we're going to need to keep the help flowing for quite some time, especially with Milton already queued up and turning into a cat 5. I feel for everyone anywhere near the path of these storms. I've been there, done that, and it's truly devastating. (My home was completely destroyed by Hurricane Frederick in 1979!)
I’m sorry to hear that ! I hope your insurance covered it. I spoke to one of my cousins today. He said many people in the Asheville area did not have flood insurance so a lot of people won’t get compensated for losing their homes, which is a tragedy.
I heard the same thing from many people who knew someone in Asheville. They said they’d never considered flood insurance because nothing like this had ever happened in their region so they didn’t have a clue they’d need it. It’s devastating on soooo many levels.
My cousin said he’s got several friends who lost their homes. His best friend lost all his guitars and amps he had in storage in Hendersonville. I wonder what is going to happen with this category 5 coming in Wednesday.
Last I heard it is not looking good for Florida, but I’m also curious how this will affect NC if at all. Hopefully, it won’t make it up there, but things are crazy nowadays so who knows. I hope it loses steam before making landfall but as of now it’s not projected to.
I really don’t wanna believe Garth Brooks was a creep to someone :^( love ya, Chris.
Me either!
I heard a lot more about it today. Some court documents came to light. It's not looking good for the G man.
I really don’t wanna believe it either, Matt, but I have to say, after hearing the details I do believe it. Love ya too, brother.
Oh, and since it’s Kevin Godley’s birthday, everyone listen to “Group Life” by Godley and Creme and tell me it’s not pop genius.
Yes! Everyone should listen to Godley & Creme. I discovered them abou 100 years ago from “Cry” and loved them ever since.
It should be mentioned they’re one half of 10cc!

Thank you for posting the hurricane relief fundraisers!

I read that it is expected to hit Florida and head towards the Atlantic Ocean. Not expected to hit the Carolina’s or Tennessee. We will see.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
